What are cookies?
A cookie is a small text file that websites save on your computer or mobile device while you visit them. Thanks to cookies, the website remembers minimal amounts of information related to your actions and preferences (for example login, language, font size and other display settings) so that they do not have to be re-entered when you return to the website or browse from a page to another. Cookies also allow you to analyse the use of the services and contents provided by the website to optimise your browsing experience and the services offered.
Types of cookies
Based on the characteristics and use, different categories of cookies can be distinguished:
- Technical cookies.
These are cookies that are strictly necessary for the proper functioning of the website, used to provide services in a better way and to improve your browsing experience.
According to the Privacy Guarantor, pursuant to art. 122 paragraph 1 of the D.Lgs. (Italian Legislative Decree) 196/2003, the use of these cookies does not require your consent: by browsing the website you implicitly accept the use of these cookies.
These cookies will therefore always be used and sent, unless you change the settings of your browser, being fully aware that this may affect the display of the pages of the website.
- Profiling cookies.
These are cookies that profile your way of browsing the website and are used to send you advertising messages in line with the preferences you expressed while browsing on internet.
According to the Privacy Guarantor, pursuant to art. 23 of the D.Lgs. (Italian Legislative Decree) 196/2003, the use of these cookies requires adequate information and a request for consent from you.
In turn, these types of cookies can be distinguished according to the subjects involved:
- Publishing cookies.
These are cookies, technical or profiling, installed by the owner of the website. For the Privacy Guarantor, editorial profiling cookies are similar to editorial technical cookies.
- Third party cookies.
These are mostly profiling cookies sent from third-party domains external to the website.
You can express your consent to the use of these cookies directly on the third-party websites.
